Doom

Doom is the definitive first person shooter developed by id Software and released in 1993. It became a Sega 32X launch title and is widely considered to be one of the games that pioneered and popularized the first person shooter genre. Doom retains a large, dedicated fan base to this day. The player assumes the role of a nameless Space Marine who uses a variety of weaponry to fight his way through several Mars moonbases and the depths of Hell itself.
