The Great Giana Sisters

The Great Giana Sisters takes you into a classic 2D side-scrolling adventure. After a long sleep, Giana wakes up in a strange world full of dangers, and you must guide her through 32 varied stages. Along the way you dodge obstacles, collect jewels and bonuses, and face countless monsters until finally confronting the final boss. If you succeed, Giana is awakened by her sister Maria. Later versions even allowed two-player mode, where Maria became playable as well. Due to its strong similarity to Super Mario Bros., the game was quickly pulled from the market, but by then it had already achieved cult status.
